How to Connect?
- Ensure Safety Before Installation:
- Turn off power at the circuit breaker to avoid electrical shock or damage during installation.
- Mount the switch into a standard wall or electrical box, ensuring the connections are secure for each of the three gang switches.
- Wire each gang according to the appliance or light you intend to control. Ensure the connections are done following the wiring diagram provided with the switch.
- Once the switch is securely installed, turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
- If you haven’t already, download the Fixbytech mobile app from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android).
- Open the app and either create a new account or log in if you already have one.
- In the Fixbytech app, tap on the “+” icon to add a new device.
- Select Smart Mini Switch from the list of supported devices.
- Follow the app’s prompts to begin the pairing process.
- The app will ask you to connect the device to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure your network is running on 2.4GHz, as the switch is not compatible with 5GHz networks.
- Enter your Wi-Fi credentials (SSID and password) when prompted.
- The app will attempt to pair with the switch. Once connected, you’ll see a confirmation message.
- Once the switch is connected to the Wi-Fi, you can customize each of the three gang switches within the app. You can assign specific devices (lights, fans, etc.) to each gang, ensuring they operate independently.
- If you want to control the switch with voice commands, you can link it to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant:
- In the Fixbytech app, navigate to Settings > Voice Assistant Setup.
- Follow the prompts to link your account with Alexa or Google Assistant.
- After linking, you can control each gang switch via voice commands.
- Once the setup is complete, test the switch using the app or voice commands. Verify that each gang switch operates as expected and controls the correct device.
- Wi-Fi Issues: Ensure that your phone and the switch are on the same Wi-Fi network during setup.
- Power Reset: If the switch isn’t connecting, try resetting the switch by turning off the power for 10 seconds and then turning it back on.
Usage
Installing the Smart Mini Switch:
- Turn off power at the circuit breaker before installation to ensure safety.
- Mount the Fixbytech Smart Mini Switch 3-Gang in a standard wall box or electrical box, ensuring that each gang switch is correctly wired to control your desired devices (e.g., lights, fans, etc.).
- Secure the switch and screw it into place, ensuring no loose wires.
- After installation, power on the switch.
- Open the Fixbytech mobile app and follow the on-screen prompts to connect the switch to your home Wi-Fi network.
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is operating on a 2.4GHz network (5GHz is not supported for the connection).
- If you want to control the switch using voice commands, integrate it with either Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
- Follow the app’s instructions for linking your smart assistant account.
- Once linked, you can say commands like, “Alexa, turn off living room lights” or “Hey Google, turn on the fan.”
- Use the Fixbytech app to set schedules for each of the three switches.
- Schedule lights to turn on at sunset or appliances to turn off after a set time for energy-saving and convenience.
- Create timers to control individual switches for specific durations (e.g., fan for 30 minutes).
- Program your Smart Mini Switch to create scenes such as “Movie Time” (dim lights, turn off unnecessary appliances) or “Good Morning” (turn on lights, start the fan).
- You can activate these scenes directly from the app or via voice control.
- Track energy consumption for each device connected to the switch through the app.
- Use this data to monitor usage patterns and make adjustments to save energy.
- In case of connection issues or app errors, try rebooting your switch by turning off the power for 10 seconds and then turning it back on.
- If problems persist, consult the app’s help section or contact Fixbytech customer support for assistance.
- Ensure that no wires are exposed and that the unit is properly grounded.
- Do not attempt to open or tamper with the internal components of the switch to avoid electric shock.
